The director leads the actors, the cinematographer directs the audience.
The Cinematography study course prepares you for the German film market, and you can work both in Germany and internationally. As an ambitious cinematographer, your career prospects after graduating are excellent because with this study course, you’ll have your finger on the pulse. Changes in advertising forms and formats, as well as their publications in the various media and platforms, are addressed directly on the course. You also get the opportunity to establish a unique role in the industry with significant support from professional circles, and to establish contacts with leading figures in the industry.
The project-based study course Cinematography focuses on artistic and organisational camera work in a variety of genres, and fosters interdisciplinary teamwork. From idea development to realisation, it is necessary to work in a team with students on the Directing, Screenplay Writing, Editing and Production courses. In various student film projects, you have the opportunity during your studies to work under realistic conditions, with cutting-edge technology and holding real responsibility.
The academic curriculum and film projects on the Camera course are taught and supervised exclusively by real-world experts. Lecturers on the course are directors of photography with national and international experience in all areas of cinematography. They will support you in your artistic development and with the practical implementation.
